Boating on beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard

Rockwall has been a popular location for great boating, sailing and fishing since Lake Ray Hubbard was completed in 1970. Water-sports enthusiasts can water-ski, jet ski, parasail, wakeboard, tube, kayak and swim all year long.

There are currently five marinas and six boat ramps on the lake where you can either launch or rent a boat:

Marinas:

Chandler’s Landing Marina (Rockwall)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, take Ridge Rd. exit, drive south on Ridge Rd. and follow to Henry M. Chandler Dr. Turn right and follow street down the hill to lake and marina.
  • Two-lane concrete ramp with a maximum parking capacity of 50
  • $5.00 launch fee required
  • Open all year

 Harbor Bay Marina (Rockwall)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, take the Horizon/Ridge Road exit and head north towards Lakeside Village. Just before entering Lakeside Village, turn left at Windjammer Way and follow to lake.
  • Two-lane concrete ramp with a maximum parking capacity of 50
  • $12 launch fee required
  • Fishing barge available
  • Open all year

Bayview Marina (Rowlett)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, cross Lake Ray Hubbard and take the Dalrock Rd. exit. At the traffic light, turn left, circle around and enter Robertson Park on Cooke Dr. Turn right and follow Launch circle around and you’ll see the Marina on the right.
  • Two ramps, 6 lanes total, with parking for 150 vehicles
  • No fee required

Captain’s Cove Marina (Garland)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, head west towards Dallas and cross the lake. Take the Chaha Rd. exit north to Zion and turn left to the Park.
  • Four concrete boat lanes with parking for up to 50 vehicles
  • $10 launch fee required
  • Open all year

Marina Del Ray (Garland)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, head west towards Dallas and cross the lake. Take the Roan Rd. exit and head north/turn right and turn right again on Rowlett Rd. Just before you reach the lake, turn left into the Marina.

Boat Ramps:

State Highway 66 Boat Ramp (Rockwall)

  • From Texas State Highway 66 (Rusk St.) in Rockwall, head east to just before you reach the bridge and turn into the park.
  • Two-lane concrete ramp with a maximum parking capacity of 50
  • No fee required
  • Open all year
  • Operated by City of Rockwall

Terry Park Boat Ramp (Heath)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, take Ridge Road (FM 740) south to Smirl (FM1140), turn right on Terry Lane and then head west to the Park and ramp.
  • Two-lane concrete ramp with a maximum parking capacity of 20
  • No fee required
  • Open all year

Robertson Park Boat Ramps (Dallas)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, cross Lake Ray Hubbard and take the Dalrock Rd. exit. At the traffic light, turn left, circle around and enter Robertson Park on Cooke Dr. Turn right and you will find one boat ramp. Follow around the one-mile Launch circle and you’ll find the other ramp after you pass the Marina.

Lakeside Fishing Pier Boat Ramp (Garland)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, head west across the lake. Take the Dalrock Rd. exit and head straight onto Cooke Rd. into Robertson Park. Turn right on Cooke Dr. and left on Pecan Rd. to the marina.
  • Two-lane concrete ramp with a maximum parking capacity of 25
  • $6 launch fee required
  • Enclosed fishing barge
  • Open all year

John Paul Jones Park (Garland)

  • From I-30 in Rockwall, head west towards Dallas and cross the lake. Take the Chaha Rd. exit north to Zion and turn left to the Park.
  • Four concrete boat lanes with parking for up to 50 vehicles
