The Race to the Toyota Cup Series completes its tour of the nation with its seventh and final event each year at the Life Time Triathalon Series (Dallas) in Rockwall. Professional athletes compete across the nation for the coveted Toyota Cup, a cash purse including over $500,000 in individual race awards, plus a Toyota vehicle. Alongside these professional athletes, thousands of local Texans will swim, bike and run their way to the finish line in either a sprint or international distance. The Sprint distance is an 800-meter swim, 20K bike and 5K run. International is a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run.
Since 2006 the Race to the Toyota Cup has connected some of the most prominent international-distance triathalon events in the U.S. Throughout the series, the world’s top triathletes battle for points and a chance to win the Toyota Cup. In 2012 the Race consisted of seven events in Miami, Austin, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas/Rockwall.
The swimming portion of the race is in Lake Ray Hubbard in the Harbor. The bike and running races extend across Rockwall. Male and female winners will take home $15,000, plus earn 20 points – double the standard in all other events in the Series.
